Free Fishing Expo

Saturday: Sunshine Ace Hardware invites you to a day of fun and fishing at our 5th Annual Reel in the Sunshine FREE fishing expo! Throughout the day, the FREE expo will feature fishing seminars taught by renowned fishing captains, great deals, as well as fun activities for the whole family to enjoy. Throughout the event, guests will have the opportunity to view product demonstrations from more than 20 brands including Costa, Diawa, Penn, Shimano, Yeti and more. The family-friendly event from 9 am – 2 pm will also include tasty samplings from grilling demonstrations, special retail offers and casting demonstrations. In addition, a charitable lunch benefiting the Children’s Miracle Network will be offered for a donation. This event is at the Bonita Sunshine ACE Hardware, located at 9100 Bonita Beach Road.


AsiaFest “Year of the RAT” Celebration

Saturday: Alliance for the Arts presents the 16th Annual SWFL AsiaFest “Year of the RAT” Celebration. The Festival, from 10 am – 4 pm, will showcase crafts, customs & cultures from countries and ethnic regions from all over Asia. Featuring a Medley of Delectable Asian Cuisine, Domestic & Asian Imported Beer, Enticing Specialty Vendors, Japanese Taiko Drummers, Traditional Lion Dancers, Martial Arts, Tai Chi Demonstration, Alluring Multi-Cultural Dances from China, Korea, Indonesia, Turkey, Bollywood, Philippines, & the Pacific Islands. Plus featured Guest Speakers, Artists, Comedians & more. Bring your chairs, umbrellas & beach throws. Stay awhile and enjoy this all-day cultural showcase. As well as games, demonstrations, educational activities, meet our Dedicated Fort Myers Fire Fighters & special treats for kids of ALL ages. Admission is $5 per person at the door.


STEMtastic 2020

Saturday: STEMtastic invites all children and their families to participate in this exciting day of discovery. This FREE event, from 10 am – 3 pm at the Lee County School District offices will have over 125 exhibits to explore and food available for purchase. Join us for a day full of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math! #LoveLeeSchools


Fire House Open House

Saturday: The Iona McGregor Fire Department is hosting an Open House from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. The theme – Community Togetherness! The event is FREE & open to the public. There will be a lot going on: learn about the Iona McGregor Fire District (IMFD), Meet your IMFD firefighters, First responder equipment displays, Meet other first responders, L demonstrations, Sparky the Fire Dog, IMFD Dive Team, Hazmat Team, Technical Rescue Team, Marine 70 – our fireboat, A face painter, Inflatable obstacle course and slides, Free food & drinks, Kids activities, Photo opportunities, many more. We will also have a junior obstacle course set up. For $2 (cash only), you can participate in the course and the money will be donated to the Gulf Coast Humane Society. Each child will get a stuffed animal at the end. This FREE event is fun for the whole family!


2020 Junior Parade

Sunday: The Edison Festival of Lights’ Junior Parade is Florida’s largest youth parade. It showcases the creativity and talents of hundreds of Southwest Florida children and their families. Over 100 units, including floats, marching bands, dancers, street performers, clowns, and dignitaries parade their way around the Downtown River District. The annual event has been taking place in Southwest Florida since the 1940s and gets better every year! The Junior Parade is held during the day, from 2:30 – 4:30 pm, and is a smaller version of the Grand Parade. It’s old-fashioned family fun for participants and spectators. Come join us and be part of the FREE tradition!
