The Fort Myers Police Department is seeking help from the community in the homicide of 23-year-old Keion Upshaw.
On Saturday, November 2, 2019, at approximately 5:12 p.m., the Fort Myers Police Department received a ShotSpotter alert for multiple shots fired on Gardenia Avenue.
Officers responded to 1523 Gardenia Avenue and located Keion Upshaw suffering from gunshot wounds. Upshaw was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
It was learned that the occupants of a silver Sports Utility Vehicle, believed to be a Nissan Kicks, drove past 1523 Gardenia Avenue and shot Upshaw. The suspect vehicle then fled the scene in an unknown direction.
This shooting/homicide offense occurred in a busy residential area, in broad daylight, during a time of high vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
