Making weekend plans? Check out these 5 things to do this weekend in Fort Myers:
Roar Offshore OPA National Championship
Thursday through Saturday: Get ready to celebrate the return of Offshore Powerboat Racing to Fort Myers Beach with Roar Offshore! The entire race will be visible anywhere on the beach from the pier and on the water in the spectator anchoring area. The party will kick off on Thursday with a parade of race boats over the bridge and onto Old San Carlos Blvd for a street party. Boats will be on display in the streets with live music, food and a chance to see the awesome race boats up close and to meet the teams that make it happen. The Race Village opens Friday at 9 am at Salty Sam’s Complex with race teams and boats available for viewing and interaction and vendor displays. Teams will be on the racecourse Friday, so there will be plenty of action on the water as well. Saturday brings three races to our beautiful beachfront with more viewing options than other races this season. You can choose to watch the races with unobstructed viewing from one of our host waterfront restaurants, a VIP, aboard a boat in the spectator anchoring area, in a beach chair, or even from your raft floating in the water.
