Limited tickets still available for Oct. 30 event

Busey Wealth Management has been announced as title sponsor for Florida SouthWestern State College Foundation’s Mina Edison Society’s Focus on Excellence Scholarship and Award Luncheon, which will honor Luminary Award recipient Susan Kyle.

Mina Edison Society provides scholarships for academic excellence at Florida SouthWestern (FSW) State College. The luncheon event from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30 at The Forest Country Club in Fort Myers. It will feature networking, a student expo, awards, as well as a keynote address by Dr. Eileen DeLuca, FSW provost and vice president of student affairs.

“It has been our goal to give back to our communities, particularly to organizations that advocate for higher education,” said Charles Idelson, Florida Regional President for Busey Wealth Management. “With the Mina Edison Society’s dedication to providing scholarships and honoring community luminaries, it was a natural fit for our support.”

Susan Kyle, a well-known philanthropist, community leader and advocate for quality education, will be recognized at the luncheon with the annual Mina Edison Society’s signature Luminary Award. This award is in honor of namesake Mina Edison, a philanthropist, activist and self-titled “home executive” who was a firm believer in education. Mina was the business force behind her husband, inventor Thomas A. Edison, while raising three of his children and three of their own.

The Luminary Award honors an individual or organization who has attained eminence in their field and who encourages and motivates others to do the highest good.

Limited tickets to the event are still available. For information, call 239-489-9210.
