FMPD Salutes Officers of the Month

The Fort Myers Police Department recognized several officers for exemplary service to the community with Officer of the Month Awards.

Officer JoAnn Werbalis was presented the July Officer of the Month Award by Chief Derrick Diggs for her successful work catching two juvenile offenders on McGregor Boulevard. 


Detective Jose Gomez and Officer David Gaide received the Mission Bar-B-Que Officers of the Month Award from Chief Diggs for the apprehension of tire thieves that had been plaguing Fowler Street car lots.


The East Fort Myers Rotary Club Award for June was awarded by Chief Diggs to Officers Sarah Harris, Jimmy Hernandez, Emelia Lock (not pictured) and Yanny Morales (not pictured) for their diligent work on a homicide investigation.


In addition, Chief Diggs presented the Rotary Club Award for July to Sgt. Glenn Eppler, Officer James Moschella (not pictured) and Officer Phillip Derry (not pictured) for defusing a violent domestic situation.


Chief Diggs commended all the officers for outstanding work in service to the citizens of Fort Myers.
