5 Things to do this Weekend in Fort Myers

Art, back to school, music, mystery, yappy hour and more!

Making weekend plans?  Check out these 5 things to do this weekend in Fort Myers:

Yappy Hour

Friday: Join us for Yappy Hour, the second Friday of each month at center court from 6 – 8pm! Sip, shop, dine, and stroll with your dog by your side. Bell Tower proudly partners with the Gulf Coast Humane Society and local merchants to bring you pet – friendly programming and events. Canine cops, furry firefighters and pooch paramedics will be strolling the catwalk. The theme for August’s pet-friendly event is “Paws up for First Responders,” a tribute to law enforcement, firefighters and EMS workers. Dog owners are encouraged to dress their pets in themed apparel, and for a $5 donation to the Gulf Coast Humane Society, dogs can participate in a costume contest for an opportunity to win prizes.

Mystery Walk

Friday: Mystery Walk is a family-friendly event that invites you to search the clues throughout core downtown and enter for a chance to win prizes! It’s a great way to explore downtown and have some fun too! Check-in starts at 6 pm and the challenge stays open until about 8 pm. Cash prizes for four winners. Check-in is at the corner of First and Hendry Streets in front of Iberia Bank. This is FREE to play. No purchase is necessary at participating locations.

The Eyes Have It: Gallery Exhibition

Friday: “It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.” – Henry David Thoreau. This gallery opening reception is FREE and open to the public. It features light refreshments from 5 – 7 pm. See it first. See it free. Our galleries are free and open to the public, although a $5 suggested donation keeps programming affordable and accessible.

Saturday: A Back to School Block Party will be held from 9 am until 12 pm at Bell Tower Shops…a day of FREE FUN for the entire family! Sheriff Carmine Marceno and Dr. Greg Adkins, from the Lee County School District, will speak with parents and guardians about school safety as they prepare for the upcoming school year. K-9 Kylo will be, on hand, participating in a K-9 demonstration. Bloodhound Maggie will be present to say hello! The event will include a bounce house, a photo booth, a bike rodeo, and multiple giveaways. There will be face painting and lawn games for the kids! Sheriff Marceno and Deputy Chance are also calling out to Deputy Dogs members! Come out for this call to action! If you haven’t yet registered your furry friend for the Deputy Dogs programhere’s another opportunity!
