Morning Robbery and Shooting Suspect Quickly Arrested

This morning, Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at approximately 7:25 a.m., officers with the Fort Myers Police Department responded to a report of a robbery and shooting at 3316 Franklin Street.

The victim, Edward Johnson (date of birth 4/29/1978) suffered a non-life threating gunshot wound. Johnson was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital for treatment. Tony Bouie (date of birth 4/3/1966) was located a short time after being positively identified as the suspect involved.

After his arrest, Bouie was taken to the Fort Myers Police Department where a search discovered four plastic baggies of Marijuana. Bouie was charged with robbery with a firearm, aggravated battery with a firearm, possession of marijuana and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Bouie was then transported to the Lee County jail.
