Hometown Hero Speaker Series Presents Collier Lee Honor Flight

Debi Lux, founder of Collier Lee Honor Flight, and Jessica Mahealani will the featured speakers at the Hometown hero Speaker Series on June 27th at the SWFL Military Museum and Library.

The two will speak about Collier Lee Honor Flight which celebrates and thanks our local veterans. Honor Flight transports veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit military memorials dedicated to honor their service and sacrifices. They have flown hundreds of WW2, Korean, and Vietnam War veterans to DC at no cost to the veteran. Throughout the day, they are received by the general public of grateful attendees at the memorials and airports. Crowds dressed in full red, white, and blue line up with banners and American flags to properly welcome our heroes. Collier Lee Honor Flight assures our local veterans truly understand how much their service and sacrifice is appreciated and valued.

Dr. Lux is a Minnesota native who started her career in dentistry when she was 19. She received her doctorate in dental surgery from the University of Minnesota and is currently licensed in Florida. Through the course of her career, she served honorably as an Officer in the United States Navy and built a thriving dental practice in North Florida. In her short residency in Naples, Dr. Lux has become a Women of Initiative 2015, a graduate of Leadership Collier 2015, and Ooh La La Jewels Legacy Lady. She has also received Rotary’s Paul Harris recognition and Seven Seals award. While Dr. Lux is involved and has been on the board of many professional associations as well as non-profit organizations, her passion lies with serving our American Veterans. She carries that mission while serving veterans through the CLHF.

CLHF was established on September 25th, 2013 to bring the program to the Collier and Lee County area. Collier Lee Honor Flight is a 501(c)3 organization, comprised of an all-volunteer group of hardworking individuals.
