Making weekend plans? Check out these 5 things to do this weekend in Fort Myers:
Friday: Fort Myers River District Alliance (RDA) will host their FREE monthly event, Art Walk on the historic streets of downtown Fort Myers. The featured artist will be Lee County Students! More than 40 schools will be participating in the event. Performances include jazz and garage bands, musical groups, dance troupes, chorus, theater and visual arts. The evening will highlight the best-performing groups and talents of our youth; with a beautiful background all in one place. Eight performing stages and 18 visual arts booths throughout downtown will give participants the opportunity to enjoy all genres of art. Downtown restaurants and shops will be open throughout the event. FREE parking and trolley service is available at Publix, West First Street, across from First Watch. The trolley will run from 5 – 9:30 p.m. and will run on a continuous loop from downtown to the parking lot. Rain or shine, 6-10 pm.
Saturday: The Southwest Florida Reading Festival is a FREE event presented annually by the Lee County Library System to promote reading, literacy and library services. Best-selling authors give presentations and sign books for fans. Fun for the whole family. Event runs from 10 am – 4 pm at the Fort Myers Regional Library in the River District.
PugFest 2019 Bad to the Bone
Saturday: Good dogs and bad dogs are welcome at the 14th annual Pug Fest at Bell Tower Shops. One of Southwest Florida’s favorite dog-friendly events, Pug Fest welcomes well-mannered canines of all breeds for a costume contest, fun activities and games of skill. This year’s Pug Fest theme is “Bad to the Bone,” so owners are encouraged to dress their dogs in costumes that showcase their pooch’s toughness and attitude. For a $5 donation, pet-owners also can have their dogs washed at Pug Fest. Pug Fest runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
