Bird Patrol’s Morning Meander @ Lakes Park

Saturday:  This easy walk along clear paths offers an opportunity to see birds in native vegetation with experienced Bird Patrol guides pointing out the many species in Lakes Park, a Lee County birding hot spot and crucial nesting area for many birds. Please wear comfortable shoes and dress to be outside. Bring water, sunscreen and binoculars. 
For more information, call (239)533-7580 or 533-7576. This tour starts at 8 am and is provided in cooperation with Lee County Parks and Recreation. It’s FREE with PAID PARKING. Please meet at Shelter A7. Enter Lakes Park gate from Gladiolus. Turn right. Drive to the end of the road, continue through the parking lot. Summer of Fit Festival

Saturday:  Healthy Harvest Community Farms has announced its Summer of Fit Festival, a free family event in Lehigh Acres (670 Milwaukee Blvd.)  The full-day event starts with a 7 am 5K registration and 8 am 5K kickoff. Fresh breakfasts, lunches, and dinners, as well as fitness and cooking classes, raffles, chance to win a Custom Rod & Reel, live music, dancing, games, arts and crafts, a giant Slip ‘N Slide and much more, will follow the 5Ks. Live music will end at 10 p.m. 

Free Pancake Breakfast

Saturday:  FREE fluffy pancakes, sizzlin’ sausage, ice cold OJ, hot coffee + more!  Six Bends Harley Davidson from 10 am – 12 noon or until they are gone. 

Hometown Labor Festival

Saturday – Sunday:  Bass Pro Shops is hosting a FREE Labor Day Festival which will feature family activities, photo opportunities, face painting, archery challenge, duck pond, bait toss, crafts, free hot dogs, free samples of funnel cake and cotton candy and workshops for the adults. Both Days: 12 pm-2 pm: Free hot dogs, 1 pm-4 pm: Free samples of funnel cake and cotton candy. Saturday: 1:30 pm: Smokers: Tips, Techniques, and Types. 3 pm: Tips for the Backyard chef: Best grills and accessories. Sunday: 1:30 pm Going Dutch: dutch oven cooking made easy, 3 pm Fryer Functionality: Functional Features. Free Zippered insulated tote and bottle openers for the first 25 customers that attend each seminar. For more information, please call Bass Pro at: (239) 461-7800
